This was one of the most dramatic and intense books I’ve read in a long time!Asher Bailey is out of prison, but that doesn’t mean he is, by any means, ready to pick up where he left off with Grace Miles. They both have lots of healing to do and a lot of things to overcome, both internal and external. But you know the best happily ever afters are the hard-earned ones!Grace has worked hard to sustain their love through separation and stubbornness. Asher is just trying to make it through the day without exploding. With the help of their families and friends they slowly, slowly make their way back to each other and it’s worth the wait! OMG this book! After the heartwrenching cliff hanger that was the end of Protecting you, Fighting for us was a magnificent follow up! In Protecting you, it was Asher who had the faith (at least at first) that he and Grace were meant to be together, Grace took up that responsibility in Fighting for us. She never once gave up on Asher, or the faith that they would be together by the time Asher was out of prison. I really admired Grace's loyalty, to her family, to Asher, but most importantly to herself. Asher is clearly struggling after being released, and being thrown back in to the craziness that is his family and their small little town doesn't help, but Grace is always by his side.The Bailey's might be my new favorite book family (sorry Miles fam, i still love you!!) The boys are all crazy (Logan Bailey is mine! back off bronoculars) Evan is major grumpy vibes! Levi is so serious, i cannot wait to see who breaks him, and Gavin- I don't know what we're going to do with that boy but it's going to be fun to watch! But i think my favorite Bailey is Gram, she is so wise and has an amazing sense of humor!The real star of the show though is Cara! We all need a Cara in our lives, she's a fierce protector in her own right and a bit of a wildchild! Her loyalty to the people she cares about is the stuff of legends!Claire has created this amazing little town, and those darn squirrels! I have no doubt they are organized and i cannot wait to see what other trouble they cause next!Be prepared for the full range of emotions in this one, you'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll want to shake a certain ex-con who just can't get out of his own way, and you'll fall in love with every aspect of this book.Plus a fun little epilogue to make you potentially want to pull your hair out in anticipation of the next installment! Who doesn't want that?!?Trust me here, you want to read this book, but clear your schedule because you won't want to put it down once you've started!
